Aérodrome de Mende-Brenoux

The place

Mende-Brenoux Aerodrome (ICAO code LFNB) is a civil aerodrome located in the commune of Brenoux, near Mende, in the Lozère department. Perched at an altitude of approximately 1,025 meters on a plateau of the Massif Central, near Mont Mimat, it ranks among the highest aerodromes in France open to public air traffic. Created and long operated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lozère, it was transferred in 2016 to the Community of Municipalities Cœur de Lozère. It has a paved runway of about 1,285 meters and a grass runway reserved for ultralight aircraft, complemented by several hangars. Among the few aerodromes in the department, it hosts flying clubs and serves tourism aviation, gliding, and civil security missions.
