The place
Medieval castle remodeled at La Houssaye-en-Brie, in Seine-et-Marne, surrounded by water moats. Probably built at the end of the 13th century, it had numerous owners, including General Augereau who acquired it in 1801. Abandoned in 1920, it was bought in 1939 by industrialist Jacques Bellanger, who dedicated thirty years to restoring it.
