The place
Renaissance Château of Eure-et-Loir, famous for its unfinished aqueduct by Louis XIV and its French gardens. Acquired in 1674 by Françoise d'Aubigné, known as Madame de Maintenon, the secret wife of Louis XIV, it is classified as a historical monument.
