The place

Southern Paris landscaped campus (14th arrondissement) grouping together student houses from many countries. It was born from a convention signed in 1921, at the initiative of Minister André Honnorat and Rector Paul Appell, in response to the post-war student housing crisis. Built on the site of the Thiers fortifications declassified in 1919, it occupies only nine hectares of buildable land, the rest being reserved for the park.
