The place
Victorian pub in St John's Wood built in 1898 for businessman Frank Crocker to the designs of architect Charles Worley, and listed as a Grade II* historical monument. Legend has it that Crocker threw himself out of a window upon learning that the railway terminus would be at Marylebone instead of Maida Vale; he actually died of natural causes at the age of 41. Renamed Crocker's Folly in 1987, the establishment has also hosted Reds starring Warren Beatty and adaptations of Oscar Wilde by Oliver Parker.
