The place

The Rully wine estate was taken over in 2005 by Hélène Jaeger-Defaix, who carries on the tradition of her ancestors, the Niepce family, winemakers since the 16th century. She succeeded her great-aunt Henriette Niepce; her great-grandfather Henri Niepce, a notable figure in the village, worked in the 1930s to have the controlled designation of origin for Rully recognized, and her grandmother was the photographer Janine Niepce.
