The place
Modernist building erected in 1940 in Colón, one of the first of its kind in the city and one of the most luxurious, with views of the sea and the entrance to the canal. Its reinforced concrete structure housed the first electric elevator in Colón, which served its five floors, and its walls as well as its floors were clad in marble and granite. Its ground floor hosted a Kodak agency and the first branch of the Panamanian social security.
