The place
Federal Hall National Memorial, located on Wall Street, is the site where George Washington took the oath of office as the first President of the United States in 1789. Built in 1842 by architect John Frazee in the Greek Revival style, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and holds the status of National Treasure.
