The place
An open-air filming basin dug in the 1930s at the southern end of MGM's Lot One, near the intersection of Overland Avenue and Culver Boulevard, with its own water tower to fill and empty it in a matter of moments. It served the studio's water sequences for seven decades, from Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan to the 1990s, before being demolished in 2003.
