McCambridge Recreation Center

The place

Municipal Recreation Center of the city of Burbank: a gymnasium, several meeting rooms, and classrooms. Two murals were painted there in 1976 by volunteers from the Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center, at the request of the city's bicentennial committee, and have remained on the walls throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The murals on the stage wall and the opposite wall have since been covered with paint; the city launched a call to artists in 2021 for a new mural on the stage wall of the gymnasium.
