Musée de cire de Waterloo

The place

Wax museum located opposite the building of the Panorama of the battle, just steps away from the Lion's Mound, in an old hotel founded in 1818 by Sergeant Major Cotton. Its figures — Napoleon I, Wellington, Blücher, Prince William II of the Netherlands, and Cambronne — were shaped in 1949 by the artists of the Grévin museum. It closed in 2014 and the building now houses the restaurant Le Bivouac de l'Empereur; only a black eagle and a stone statue of Napoleon remain.
