The place
Built in 1929, the house belonged to the Los Alamos Ranch School before the Manhattan Project took over the site. J. Robert Oppenheimer lived there from 1943 to 1945 with his wife Kitty and their children Toni and Peter. It borders the section of Peach Street nicknamed Bathtub Row, because these houses were the only ones on site to have bathtubs; it now belongs to the Los Alamos Historical Society.
