Place des Cornières (Monpazier)

The place

At the heart of the bastide of Monpazier, the Place des Cornières owes its name to the arcades that border it. Classified historic medieval houses, a chestnut wood hall, and old grain measures compose a decor that cinema has frequented for a long time — Le Capitan, Le Chevalier de Pardaillan, and then The Last Duel by Ridley Scott. The market has been held there every Thursday for over seven hundred years, as stipulated by the charter of customs of the bastide.
