The place
Bridge crossing the gorge of the Ébron, in the municipality of Roissard. A structure has existed at this location since Antiquity, having been swept away several times by floods: a toll bridge "made of wire" in 1854, and the current bridge built in 1951. The site was the scene of a famous defense by Lesdiguières in 1586.
