The place
Portland stone tower of the University of London, in Bloomsbury, built in the 1930s; it inspired the Ministry of Truth in 1984 and represents Gotham's court in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Designed by Charles Holden, it is a Grade II* listed monument. Its architecture reflects both Art Deco and the modern movement.
