The place
Cinema from 1938 on George Street in Grays, whose unique 2,000-seat hall is considered the largest still standing in Europe. Classified as a monument, it has been closed for years and is still seeking a redevelopment. Designed by architect Frederick Chancellor, it holds a Grade II* listing. The hall has also served as a theater.
