The place
Museum of modern art located in the former Bankside power station, on the south bank of the Thames. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron in 1992, it functions as a national museum. Opened to the public in May 2000, it houses the national collection of modern and contemporary art inherited from the Tate Gallery.
