Neoclassical courthouse from 1927 overlooking Foley Square in Manhattan; its hexagonal façade with Corinthian columns has made it a recurring setting for film and television (New York, judicial…). It was designed by architect Cass Gilbert and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The scene : The film opens with a low-angle shot of the columned façade of the courthouse, from which the jurors emerge; it closes on its steps, where juror number 8 and juror number 9 finally greet each other by their names.
