A large provincial park in British Columbia established around Alouette Lake, located in the Coast Mountains. It gets its name from the two twin peaks known as "Golden Ears" that overlook the valley.

The scene : It is in this vast park of the Coast Mountains that the National Guard sets up its makeshift headquarters, under the bridge where the park road crosses Gold Creek, to the northwest of Alouette Lake, during the hunt for Rambo.

Hope, Canada

The scene : It is along Water Avenue, near the Gardner GM dealership, that the drifter John Rambo is spotted and then picked up by Sheriff Teasle in his patrol car.

The scene : Pursued by the police, Rambo literally takes off on the handlebars of his stolen motorcycle, jumping over the train tracks that cut across Third Avenue — one of the most famous jumps in the film.

The scene : Upon his arrival in town from the southwest, Rambo passes under the arch "Welcome to Hope" which spanned the road, near exit 170 of Highway 1.

The scene : At the southern edge of the city stood the gas station and the used car lot that Rambo blows up as a distraction during the final confrontation.

Site of the Kawkawa Lake Road Bridge on the Coquihalla River. The original metal beam bridge was dismantled in 2011; a kiosk installed at the picnic area pays tribute to the filming that made the place famous.

The scene : It is on this bridge crossing the Coquihalla, east of the city, that Sheriff Teasle drops off the drifter, instructing him not to return — Rambo immediately turns around and lights the fuse again.

The scene : During his motorcycle chase, Rambo cuts through the parking lot of the Chevron station; the distinctive roof of the building, which has since become the pizzeria Hope Pizza Place, can be recognized in the background of the shot.

Historic Hope Railway Station, a heritage building relocated from its original location. It notably preserves remnants of the old arch "Welcome to Hope".

The scene : The old Hope railway station appears in the film at its original location, at the corner of Hudson Bay Street and Fifth Avenue, during Rambo's passage through the city.

A series of old railway tunnels from the Kettle Valley Railway, carved into the granite above the Coquihalla River, in Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park. The project's engineer, Andrew McCullough, a theater enthusiast, named the stations along the line after characters from Shakespeare — hence the name Othello.

The scene : Renamed 'Chapman Gorge' in the film, the gorge of the Othello Tunnels hosts the most dizzying sequence: Deputy Galt falls from the helicopter while Rambo, hanging from the wall between tunnels 1 and 2, ultimately jumps into the fir trees from the overhang of tunnel 2. Colonel Trautman then sets up his base camp nearby.

Coquitlam, Canada

Greater Vancouver Regional Park combines marshes, forests, and hills, to the northeast of Port Coquitlam, on the foothills overlooking the Pitt River.

The scene : The bulk of the forest chase was filmed in and around this park northeast of Port Coquitlam: notably, it features the dump where Rambo makes a poncho out of burlap, as well as the waterfall. The surroundings also served for the opening scene.

The scene : In the opening scene, Rambo walks along the shore of the lake to meet Delmar Barry, his last Vietnam war brother-in-arms — before learning of his death from the lips of his widow.
