Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco

Opened in 1927 on the shores of Sand Pond, at the foot of the Kittatinny Ridge, the camp covers 380 acres and is owned by the Northern New Jersey Council of Boy Scouts. It is the oldest continuously operating scout camp in New Jersey; it remains closed to the public except for organized visits.
The scene : The scout camp serves as Camp Crystal Lake for almost the entire film. Steve Christy welcomes his new counselors there, who initially help him remove a stump before the reopening; when night falls, they disappear one by one in the storm. Steve, returning from dinner, is killed at the entrance of the camp.

The scene : The large chalet of the monitors, with its chimney and kitchen. They play strip Monopoly there, Jack grills his bacon, and Crazy Ralph suddenly appears to announce to the young people that they are doomed. Officer Dorf stops on the gravel path in front of the door. At the end, Brenda's body crashes through the window, Alice barricades herself there, and Mrs. Voorhees reveals herself on the threshold: "His name was Jason."

Mechanics Lodge (Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco)

Built in 1928, the Mechanics Lodge houses the electric generator of the No-Be-Bo-Sco camp.
The scene : The cabin serves as a hideout for Alice. The camp's generator is housed there: when the lights go out, Bill goes to see what's happening, and that's where the killer leaves her body hanging. A "Danger" sign is today hung at that very spot.
Johnson Lodge (Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco)

The scene : Alice and Bill go to the camp office to call for help and discover that the phone line has been cut. The mailbox planted in front of the building also comes into view.

The scene : The camp lake plays Crystal Lake, the place where young Jason drowned in 1957. It can be seen behind the main cabin, and it is on its waters that Alice, exhausted, drifts alone in a canoe believing the nightmare is over.

The scene : The final sequence is shot on the water of this park: the decomposed corpse of young Jason rises from the water and tips Alice from her canoe, before she wakes up in the hospital.

Diner opened in 1949 along Route 94, just west of the center of Blairstown. It has been remodeled since; the letters "DINER" from its old sign are preserved at the Blairstown Museum.
The scene : Steve Christy lingers here for a good part of the night talking to the waitress about his six new campers, his "babes in the woods", while at the camp the killer claims her victims. He finally decides to hit the road again.
26 Main Street (Blairstown)

The store has existed since at least the 1930s. It long housed Hartung's Luncheonette, run for 29 years by Skip and Lee Ann Hartung; it has also been a Hard Times Coffee Shop, and is today an antique shop, Hope Junction Antiques.
The scene : In this small store that also serves as a diner, Annie, the cook hired at the camp, asks how far Camp Crystal Lake is. The truck driver Enos, whom she meets there, offers to give her a ride in his truck. Only the interior is filmed here; the facade is that of 26 Main Street in Blairstown.

The scene : Two doors down from the store, at the corner of High Street and Walnut Street, Annie and Enos encounter Crazy Ralph. For his first appearance, the village drunk warns the young woman that the camp is cursed: "It's got a death curse!"
