    Staircase street of Montmartre, 82 meters long, which connects Rue des Trois-Frères to Rue Gabrielle. It brings together the former "escalier des Trois-Frères" and the old Rue du Poirier, and has borne since a decree of February 27, 1867, the name of the engraver Pierre Drevet.

    The scene : 29 minRobert Langlois (Robert Lamoureux) ascends these steps in Montmartre to give a lesson to the butcher's son, played by Dominique Davray.

  2. 14 rue Girardon (Paris 18e)

    Paris, France

    The scene : The Langlois occupy the top floor of this building overlooking the hill of Montmartre; within the first minutes, the film reviews its tenants and owners.

  3. Paris, France

    One of the oldest pathways on the Montmartre hill, 140 meters long. It follows the path of the "chemin Sacalie," a 14th-century path that led from Paris to the village of Montmartre, and has borne the name of the Jesuit Xavier de Ravignan since 1867.

    The scene : When the Langlois appear at their window, the Ravignan street unfolds before their eyes; however, it is actually located 150 meters away.

    Measuring 862 meters in length, this street in the 16th arrondissement was in the 15th century the "path of the Tombereaux," by which waste from the Auteuil tile factory was evacuated. It takes its name, adopted in the mid-19th century, from the convent of the Sisters of the Assumption, and today marks the boundary between the districts of Auteuil and La Muette.

    The scene : Fernand Langlois (Fernand Ledoux), Robert's father, has his workplace in this street in Auteuil, where the plaque appears on screen.

  5. Jouars-Pontchartrain, France

    Residential and ancient hamlet of Jouars-Pontchartrain, adjacent to the town of Pontchartrain, which it extends to the southeast. Its name recalls the wetlands where hemp was once cultivated.

    The scene : The conclusion brings the Langlois family together in full at their country house, filmed in this hamlet in Yvelines.

  6. Boulogne-Billancourt, France

    Boulogne-Billancourt film studios, located on the Quai du Point-du-Jour. Founded in 1922 under the name Studio-usine Eclipse, they became Paris-Studios-Cinéma in 1926 and then Billancourt Studios in 1933. Closed in 1992, they were demolished in 1995.

    The scene : It is on the sets of these studios that the film was shot, between May 24 and July 15, 1954.
