Iceland

The scene : The volcanic landscapes of the Mývatn lake region and Krafla in Iceland serve as natural backdrops for the establishing shots.

Iver Heath, United Kingdom

Large British film studio founded in 1936 in Iver Heath, birthplace of the James Bond saga.

The scene : Main shooting studio: almost all the interior sets (Millennium Falcon, Starkiller Base, Maz Kanata's castle, Resistance Base) were built on the soundstages.

United Arab Emirates

Part of the Rub al-Khali (the "Empty Quarter"), the largest continuous sand desert in the world, located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, near the desert resort of Qasr Al Sarab.
