Erected for the Occidental Life Insurance Company, it has successively borne the names Occidental Life Building, Transamerica Building, SBC Tower, and AT&T Center before being renamed USC Tower in 2015; the twelve-acre real estate complex of which it is a part, built under the name Occidental Center, is now known as South Park Center.
