Courthouse Square is a permanent set on the backlot of Universal Studios, located in Universal City, California, reproducing an archetypal small-town American square organized around the facade of a courthouse that serves as its centerpiece. This courthouse facade was built in 1948. Composed of a set of facades, the set is renowned for its versatility: a simple change of signage, storefronts, and urban furniture is enough to make it appear as an entirely different location, which has led it to appear in hundreds of productions. It is bordered to the south by "New York Street," another street set on the backlot. The fires that ravaged the backlot in 1990 and then in 2008 destroyed these neighboring sets but spared the courthouse; the square reopened on June 18, 2009. It remains one of the most iconic outdoor sets on the Universal backlot.

Colonial Street is a permanent residential street in the backlot of Universal Studios, in Universal City, California. Its first houses were built in 1946 on soundstage 12 for the film "So Goes My Love", then stored and moved in 1950 to the northern edge of the backlot, on the former layout of River Road; the whole area was then named Colonial Street after the "Colonial Mansion", the first residence on the street. Designed as a modular American suburb set, it features about fifteen facades of various styles and has served as the backdrop for more than sixty years of filmmaking and television production. It was extensively remodeled in 1988 for the comedy "The 'Burbs", with the removal of the house from "Leave It to Beaver" and the redesign of Circle Drive. From 2004 to 2012, it became particularly known as "Wisteria Lane", a recurring set for the series "Desperate Housewives", before being partially cleared of those adaptations to accommodate other productions.

Burbank, United States

Hennesy Street is a permanent set street in the backlot of Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California. Built in 1935 under the name "Frisco Street," this horseshoe-shaped street was once called "Tenement Street" before being renamed in the early 1980s in honor of set designer Dale Hennesy, who died during the reworking of the set to which his name is still attached. Its architecture recreates the Lower East Side of New York, featuring brick facades, metal fire escapes, and shopfronts. Still standing and well-maintained, it is among the outdoor sets presented to the public during the Warner Bros Studio Tour. One of its fire escapes also served as the backdrop for the album cover photograph of Prince's Purple Rain.

The scene : The opening sequence of "Chinatown" — the shop where Randall Peltzer buys the Mogwai — was filmed on "New York" Street at Hennessy Street, in the Warner Bros. backlot.

Blondie Street was a residential street set of the Warner Bros Ranch (formerly Columbia Ranch), located at 411 North Hollywood Way in Burbank, California, about a mile and a half north of the main Warner studio. Developed by Columbia Pictures, it takes its name from the "Blondie" film series, adapted from Chic Young's comic strip, whose suburban house was reconstructed on the ranch to facilitate filming. The set consisted of a curved path lined with about a dozen pavilions of various styles surrounding a large central park, complemented by a small brick church with a steeple. For decades, these façades served as the backdrop for countless suburban neighborhood scenes in American cinema and television, including iconic houses such as that of "Bewitched" or "Dennis the Menace." Following the announcement of the ranch's sale in 2019 (for the benefit of real estate developers), the street was demolished in October 2023 to make way for new filming stages.
