The building housed the Galeries Lafayette Montparnasse store until its closure in November 2019; the space reopened in December 2023 under the name Galeries Montparnasse, dedicated to exhibitions and events. It overlooks the Place du 18-Juin-1940, at the foot of the Montparnasse Tower and at the head of Rue de Rennes.

The square is bordered by five monumental portraits by Fabio Riéti, which represent Paul Valéry, Arthur Rimbaud, Charles Baudelaire, Gérard de Nerval, and Mallarmé. A sixth, that of Victor Hugo, disappeared in 2005 along with the building that housed it.

The scene : Term of the journey of the three friends: it is in this square, surrounded by portraits of poets, that Vinz is killed in the final scene of the film.

Chanteloup-les-Vignes, France

The four buildings in a circle that occupied this intersection have been demolished as part of the national urban renewal program, and replaced by a green space a short walk from the market square. Two hundred eighty-three housing units were razed in the neighborhood, one thousand four hundred renovated, and six hundred built.

The scene : Four buildings arranged in a circle stood here: this is the base of the tower where Vinz lives, and the first setting of the city that the film shows once the opening confrontations are over.

Paris, France

Former musette dance hall of the Marais that became a nightclub, known as the Tango and nicknamed the Boîte à frissons. The building bears the numbers 11-13 on rue au Maire; the club is announced at 11. Bought by the City of Paris, it reopened in March 2023 and has since been operated as a cooperative.

The scene : Vinz and two friends he met at the boxing match get out of the car on Rue au Maire, in front of the dance hall where one of them ends up shooting through the door.

The scene : It is in front of the television screens in the shopping center that the three boys learn of Abdel's death, and a little further on, at the top of the subway escalator, that Vinz nearly points a gun at two traffic agents.

Arranged at the foot of the facade of the Saint-Eustache church during the renovation of the Halles, the square is occupied by L'Écoute, a colossal head sculpted in sandstone by Henri de Miller in 1986, weighing approximately seventy tons.

The scene : Around the large stone head resting on the ground, Saïd and Hubert leave Vinz behind.

The Gilbert Brownstone Gallery occupied this address in the Marais until its closure. The premises now house the Brownstone Foundation, an exhibition space.

The scene : It is from here that the three boys ascend Pierre-1er-de-Serbie Avenue asking for directions, the equestrian statue of Washington in the frame.

Chanteloup-les-Vignes, France

The structure has changed little since the 1990s: part of the wall has fallen and the graffiti has been redone, but the whole still stands between the mosque and Rue des Peupliers, near the train station parking lot.

The scene : Leaning against a warehouse, this staircase is where a kid from the neighborhood tells Vinz his story about a hidden camera, "with a famous guy".
