Barrouallie, St. Vincent & Grenadines

Wallilabou Bay is a small sheltered bay on the leeward coast (Caribbean side) of northwest Saint Vincent, the main island of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, located a few kilometers north of the town of Barrouallie. It marks the mouth of the Wallilabou River, which originates in the Grand Bonhomme mountains in the center of the island and flows down to the Caribbean Sea; a little upstream are the Wallilabou Falls, accessible from the Leeward Highway. A naturally protected anchorage, the bay has long served as a stopover for coastal vessels and remains frequented by local sailing boats and fishermen. Its surroundings still retain stone remnants from the colonial era and plantations, evidence of its former role as a loading cove along the island's west coast. The site is now developed as a heritage park (Wallilabou Heritage Park).

The scene : The bay of Wallilabou reprises Port Royal for this second installment, now flanked by the offices of the 'East India Trading Company'.

Rancho Palos Verdes, United States

The scene : The church in the opening wedding scene was built in Palos Verdes, on the very site of the Port Royal set from the first film; some shots of the bone cages were also filmed there.

Charlotte, St. Vincent & Grenadines

The scene : On the east coast of Saint Vincent, the prison coffins are thrown into the sea — it is from one of them that Jack Sparrow makes his floating entrance.

Laudat, Dominica

The scene : It is in the Titou Gorge that Will Turner and his companions are suspended, prisoners in spherical bone cages.

Portsmouth, Dominica

Watercourse of the island of Dominica, in the Caribbean, near Portsmouth.

The scene : The Indian River, lined with mangrove roots, becomes the 'Pantano River' that is navigated upstream to Tia Dalma's treehouse.

Vieille Case, Dominica

The scene : The village of Vieille Case, in the north of Dominica, housed the setting of 'Isla Cruces': the ruined church, its cemetery, and the old mill whose wheel stands out.

Calibishie, Dominica

The scene : On the beach of Hampstead, lined with jungle and coconut trees, the crazy windmill wheel rolls down as Jack, Turner, and Norrington clash swords; it is also here that Jack narrowly escapes from the islanders.

Roseau, Dominica

The scene : The village of the fictional Pelegostos tribe was built at "High Meadow," south of Roseau, with its long rope bridge (actually supported by sturdy steel pilings).

Freeport, Bahamas

The scene : The sea scenes were filmed at the Gold Rock Creek Film Studio in the Bahamas, whose semi-enclosed marina offers an unobstructed horizon to infinity.

The scene : On a sandbank in the Exumas, off Little Exuma, the crew discovers — and argues over — the famous chest from "Dead Man's Chest."

Burbank, United States

The scene : The bayou setting of the "Pantano River," which leads to Tia Dalma's, was constructed.

Universal City, United States

Soundstage of the front lot of Universal Studios, in Universal City, built in 1928 and bearing building number 468. It measured 199 feet long by 146 feet wide and 49 feet high, covering approximately 29,000 square feet on the ground, and water tanks were installed beneath its concrete floor. Once nicknamed the "Back to the Future stage," it was demolished in January 2020, along with the surrounding production offices.

The scene : A tropical island village has been built there.

Universal City, United States

Universal Studios Backlot: permanent streets and outdoor sets.

The scene : Universal's backlot provided the tavern of Tortuga, set on the Mediterranean Square set, complemented by several interior stages.
