    Seventy-two dolomite steps on the east terrace of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, built from 1919 to 1928 by Horace Trumbauer and the firm Zantzinger, Borie & Medary. The city and the tourism office refer to them as the Rocky Steps, and they are among the most visited spots in Philadelphia.

    The scene : At the top of the museum steps, the city reveals a bronze statue of Rocky; he announces his retirement there, and Clubber Lang, emerging from the crowd, publicly challenges him.

  2. 55 Fremont Place (Los Angeles)

    Los Angeles, United States

    A 1915 residence designed by John C. Austin, the architect of Griffith Observatory and Los Angeles City Hall, located in the gated community of Fremont Place in Hancock Park; it was sold for 9.52 million dollars in 2024.

    The scene : The well-appointed residence where Rocky and Adrian have lived since fame: only the facade, with its driveway, lawn, and terrace, appears on screen.

    Philadelphia, United States

    A corner store that is one hundred twenty-five years old, located beneath the elevated subway of Front Street; the building has never housed a boxing gym. The gloves painted on the wall date back to the filming of Rocky V.

    The scene : The front of Mickey's gym reappears in this third installment.

  5. 318½ South Main Street (Downtown Los Angeles)

    The Main Street Gym, boxing gym at 318½ South Main Street, between 3rd and 4th, run by Howie Steindler — often cited as the model for Mickey Goldmill — until his assassination in 1977. Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Muhammad Ali trained there. The building disappeared in the 1980s; the site is now a parking lot.

    The scene : After Mickey's death, Rocky returns alone to the empty gym to take stock, until Apollo shows up with his proposal to train him.

    Mausoleum of the Jewish section of Hollywood Forever, in the southwestern part of the cemetery, originally a distinct Jewish cemetery; gangster Bugsy Siegel is buried here, and one of its corridors features a stained glass window with the Star of David and the inscription "The Alcove of Peace."

    The scene : Rocky, Adrian, Paulie, and the trainer Al Savani, the only ones present, attend Mickey's funeral in a corridor of the mausoleum; Rocky recites the kaddish over the coffin.

    The scene : The facade of the hotel depicts, in a wide shot, the entrance to the noisy training room where Rocky prepares for his fight against Clubber Lang.

    The scene : Rocky prepares for his fight against Clubber Lang in the Crystal Ballroom of the hotel, a ballroom transformed into a luxury gym, complete with a ring and merchandise featuring his likeness, much to Mickey's dismay.
